What a fun project for such fun (and thoughtful) clients !

We knew early on that providing food and shelter for birds, butterflies and other wildlife was a major goal of these clients. What we didn’t know was that the clients also wanted to provide similar care to or field staff. Ice-filled tubs of drinks and freezer pops and snacks greeted the hard-working crew every day. What a treat! To pay the favor forward, we were sure to include plenty of plants that supported the local ecology: oaks, evergreens, and plenty of nectar providing plants for pollinators.

Our lead designer, Eric, created the overalll spacial layout and specified the structural plantings. Lindsey from our design team made sure that the plant palette for our perennials met Aspen’s criteria for a bird-friendly habitat while also creating a treat for the eye.

Creating spaces for life is our mission, and this project really illustrates how - with our experience in landscape design, ecology, and horticulture - we can accomplish this. Creating a tucked-away, beautiful space to foster-family time and human interaction where there was once just lawn is such a great feeling. Doing so in a way that supports ecology is even better. Doing so with a great group of team-members really makes it the best.
