Fitchburg Stormwater

This project was a bit of a hum-dinger. A large, forested watershed that flowed through a backyard and threatened to flood the lower level of a nice Fitchburg home. Basically, this is what was happening: in normal storms everything was fine. Stormwater could flow through the site and exit without challenge in most storms. But, when larger storms occurred, the narrow drainage channel was overwhelmed and water backed up - threatening to flood the home’s lower level. Debris from the storm could back things up - or snow - or ice.

We created a novel solution to infiltrate stormwater in most instances, and also create a stormwater bypass system for water to quickly exit the site in more heavy storms.
