Dry Stone Masonry in the Hoyt Park Area
This project presented a unique opportunity to blend history with creativity, particularly given its connection to William Wesley Peters, who worked closely with Frank Lloyd Wright. Our journey involved careful restoration of existing stone walls, imaginative redesign of hardscapes, and the addition of new stone features that respectfully enhanced the property’s character.
Discovering the stories behind local figures like Peters, including his interesting personal life, adds a rich layer to our work. It’s not often you come across someone who married two Svetlanas, each with their own captivating narratives. (Our own Lindsey Whitlock is even toying with writing a book about the two Svetlanas…it’s going to be great.)
Dry stone masonry holds a significant place in our offerings. The natural aesthetic and texture of stone resonate deeply, especially when set against the backdrop of Madison’s historic homes. This project shows a good variety of stone artistry. While some firms may struggle with this technique, we take pride in our expertise. If you're considering a natural stone project and want to discuss ideas, we're here to help.
