Verona Dream Garden
This horticulture project completely transformed the front and back yards of the client’s home. As a newer build, the yard was initially open and exposed, bordering the woodland edge of a golf course. The clients wanted their backyard to feel like a defined, inviting space with added screening from neighboring properties.
Our rear yard design introduced a series of interwoven spaces - transforming the back yard into a a loverly experience of flowerful outdoor rooms. The vegetation in the back is designed to create a smoother transition between the woodland edge and the cultivated yard. Key challenges included accommodating frequent visits from four-legged visitors (deer) and managing soil impacted by juglone from pre-existing black walnut trees.
In the front yard, we emphasized the home’s rectangular architecture and symmetry by designing clean, rectangular planting beds to define the property and create a polished look that harmonizes with the house. Wanting a joyful riot of color, these beds were planted exuberantly.
